What a home staging quote should include

A good staging quote lists the rooms being styled, the hire period, what is included (delivery, installation and removal), the weekly extension rate, access charges, who is responsible for damage, and whether GST is included. Use the checklist below to compare quotes like for like.

Last updated: 22 October 2026

The checklist

  1. Hire period. How many weeks are included, and when does the clock start? Ours is 12 weeks (4 weeks plus 8 weeks free).
  2. Which rooms are styled. A room-by-room list, with what goes in each room. “Full house” is not detail enough, and you want to know if outdoor areas, the study and the entry are in or out.
  3. Delivery, installation and removal. Are all three in the price, or are some charged separately? Who does the work, and is installation finished on one day? Ours includes all three, and installation is completed on the booked styling day.
  4. The extension rate. What does it cost if the campaign runs past the hire period? Ours is $500 per week as standard, which can vary by project, and extensions are paid in advance. If the home sells early we simply destage it.
  5. Access and extras. Stairs, lifts and parking can add to a price. Ask whether access is already in the number or may be added after the inspection.
  6. Damage, loss and insurance. Who is responsible for the furniture while it is in the home, and what happens if something is damaged or missing? Ask whether your home and contents insurance, or the agent, covers it.
  7. Cancellation and rescheduling. What happens if the installation date moves, and is the booking fee refundable?
  8. Access on installation day. What must the home look like when the team arrives, and is there a fee if they can't proceed?
  9. GST. Is the price shown with or without GST? Ours are shown plus GST, and GST is added to the formal proposal.
  10. How long the quote is valid. Quotes are usually only good for a limited time. Check the date.
  11. Payment options. When is the booking fee due, when is the balance due, and is there a way to pay later? Ours is a $500 booking fee, balance due 1 week before installation, with Pay Later available through Elepay.

How to compare quotes properly

Put the quotes side by side and work out the real cost for your campaign length. Add GST to any price that excludes it. Add the extension cost for the number of weeks you expect to need (at our rate, four extra weeks is $2,000). Then check that the rooms and inclusions match. If one quote leaves out removal or charges for delivery separately, it isn’t the same product.

How our quote is laid out

You get a written proposal with a room-by-room package, how the price is worked out, payment options, terms and the totals including GST. Before that, the online estimate gives you a guide (a 3-bedroom house with two living areas starts from $4,400 + GST in most of Sydney), and we confirm the price at a free inspection. You can see all of our prices on the prices page.

Our terms in plain terms

These are printed on every proposal. Read them for any supplier.

Frequently asked questions

What should a home staging quote include?

A good staging quote lists the hire period, the rooms being styled, whether delivery, installation and removal are included, the weekly extension rate, any access charges, who is responsible for damage, cancellation terms, whether GST is included, and how long the quote is valid.

Is the staging quote the same as the online estimate?

No. At Sparkle Space the online estimate is a guide. We confirm the final price after a free inspection, and send the written quote within 24 hours of the inspection.

How long is a Sparkle Space quote valid?

This proposal is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Pricing and availability are subject to change after this period. Payment of the booking fee constitutes unconditional acceptance of all terms in this proposal.

Who is responsible if furniture is damaged?

All furniture and accessories are for display purposes only and must not be used, sat on, slept in, or otherwise handled. Any items returned damaged, soiled, or missing will incur a cleaning or full replacement fee at market value. The property owner is responsible for all loss or damage during the hire period.
